[b]Flew out of Sydney Int. airport today around 5pm with Jetstar. I was really looking forward to this trip and it would be good to see if much had changed since i was there in '05'. Our flight was held up on the run way for about 30mins. However we arrived at Denpesar basically on time. It took about an hour to get through customs and get our visas, but soon after we grabbed a taxi and headed to our hotel in Sanur. We finally arrived about 2am AUS time so basically just went straight to bed.

We stayed at Peneeda View Hotel in Sanur and it was awesome. The rooms were balinese in a way and could be mistaken for little bungalows. We headed down for breakfast in the morning right on the water on Sanur. The retuarant was in a terrific location right on the water with views of Mt Rinjani. After breakfast we decided to take a walk around the local area. This was the first time i had been to Sanur & was keen to scope the local area out and see if it differed much from Legian and Kuta. First thing i noticed about this place was the temperature. Alot cooler compard to central Legian and Kuta and hardly hot at all. We exchanged money at a local store grabbed a few bottles of water, had a look in a few local stalls and bought a couple of pairs of sunnies. After about 2 hrs we headed back to our hotel for a swim and relax. I soon noticed how much i liked Sanur alot more than Legian and especially Kuta. Alot more laid back and alot cooler. Howeere there were alot more mosquitos on this side of the island.

We stayed here for 4 night before jumping on Merpati and heading for Lombok. I was so excited about Lombok, i have wanted to go for so long and now have finally got the chance. The flight from Bali to Lombok was about 15-20 mins basically straight up and then straight down. we arrived in Mataram on time grabbed our bags and headed out to meet up with our tranfers. Lombok is alot hotter than Bali and i think it has taken the top spot off Bangkok. Our journey then took as down to Bangsal port which is the gateway to the gili islands. The scenery along the way was stunning. From rice patties to lush green forests. Amazing how green this place is considering the heat. We made it to Bangsal and the walk up the road to the port was strenuous, i'm either really un healthy or the heat just took over, it was easily 40 degrees. We waited at the port for about 30mins before our long tailed boat came. The trip to Gili Trawangan took around 20-30mins and the place was stunning. We jumped off the boat and grabbed some Nasi Goreng and coke from Manta dive as we arrived. After that we searched around for a place that i had been recommended to stay called Marta's Guesthouse. The bungalows were simple but nice. Down stairs was a bed and the shower with running salt water and up stairs was the main bed a table and afew cupboards. It was only $15p/n so it was nice. The only thing on the Gilis are Accomodation, restuarants, bars and dive centres and a couple of internet places. I fell in love with this place. So cruisy and laidback and more importantly CHEAP. Our time in the Gili's were spent relaxing, eating, drinking, swimming. We took a trip around the island on a Cidomo and also done a snorkelling trip which included Gili Air and Meno. The food here was awesome and the best prawns i have ever eaten. We stayed on the Gili's for about 4nights before heading back to Lombok and down south to our next resort at Kuta Lombok. Here we stayed at the Novotel.

This place was incredible, little bungalows as well as your normal rooms. However the price went up considerably. They have daily activities that you can participate in every day or just chill out by the pool or swim in the ocean. There were 3 pools all of decent size aswell as a bar a restuarant. The structures around Novotel are stunning with giant cliffs and mountains pertrudeing from everywhere. We mainly spent our time at the hotel as it was about 10mins drive out of town. We found a great little shop to get some supplies and food from and an amazing restuarant called "anders" which we ate at almost every night. We chose to do breakfast on the hill on the first morning and we also took a day trip to Marwoung beach. We had the beach to ourselves and the snorkelling was pretty good aswell. On our way back to the hotel we stopped at a restuarant on the top of the hill owned by an aussie lady with views right over Kuta lombok and our hotel. The place was stunning and easlily has the best views in all of Kuta. We spent about 5 days here before getting back on the plane to Bali.

Our last 5 days were spent in Legian at All Seasons Resort and 1 night at the Mercure in Kuta. Legian felt like home and hadn'e changed much at all. Unfortunatly our fav restuarant- Cafe, The Sand had been taken over by an American lady and turned into a Italian Restuarant and all closed up for air con. She wrecked it totally and hopefully her business dies in the ass. Our time spent here was for shopping and just chilling out. We had dinner at La Louciolla and the Thai place like our first trip. And as always the food was amazing. Our Hotel was great and next time we go i'm definatly going to be staying at the All Seasons. Unfortunatly the Melasti has turned into a big yobo resort full of Aussies who have no idea and dont care. However i did see little marde' again but wasn't able to talk to him. The last night in Kuta was abit of a downer. I'm not much of a fan of Kuta and staying there sucked. Just loud and noisy and hardly got any sleep.

So this was it, the end of another Indo trip and once again i dont want to leave. We left the hotel around 6pm and headed to Denpasar. for our 11pm flight home.

[b]We arrived off the plane in Phuket right on sunset. The view from the airport was amazing. We finally made it out of the airport got a lift to our hotel at Karon called Horizon Karon Resort & Spa. This place was incredible. a typical resort something that you would easily pay $300 a night here was $600 for 14 days.
